Educating Towards the Fullness of Virtue
Tangara works in partnership with parents to form each child’s character, educating for personal and academic excellence. We challenge our students to live a life of faith, and lead change for a more just and human society.
We believe that the best education develops the whole person: it integrates academic excellence with character development, as each student strives towards her personal and academic potential. Our Religious Education Program is carried out in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic faith.
Tangara School for Girls, Years 2-12
Tangara Infants, Boys & Girls, Reception-Year 1
Welcome to Tangara! Our School offers an outstanding academic program and a range of exciting co-curricular opportunities in sport, music, drama, public speaking, community service, leadership and much more. There are many schools that do the same. What makes Tangara special is our unique system of personalised education which supports each student to be the best person he or she can be. Our motto says it all: Ad Summam Virtutem, Towards the Fullness of Virtue.
At Tangara, every child has the personal attention of their own Tutor who works in partnership with the parents to develop the student’s academic potential and good habits such as sincerity, resilience, cheerfulness, generosity and responsibility that we all need to flourish as human beings.
We nurture a School culture that fosters virtues of mind and heart; respects the inalienable value of all people, especially the weakest and most vulnerable; upholds the dignity of service; and teaches that ordinary life can be the meeting place for a personal relationship with God.
The ultimate objective of everything we do at Tangara is to form women of character who know the meaning of true happiness and will be leaders in their families, their profession, communities and in society. Please join us at our next Open Day where you can meet our students and their dedicated teachers and see our wonderful School in action.

While always respecting freedom of conscience, Tangara students are encouraged to develop a loving relationship with God. Discovering the Divine in daily life gives them the confidence to contemplate the big questions and the hope that fills their journey with meaning and purpose. Our Religious Education program offers students a solid grounding in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith.
Tangara’s Chaplains are priests of Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church that helps lay people integrate their faith with their family and friendships, their study and professional work, and all of the ordinary circumstances of their lives. Mass is celebrated daily in our Chapel for students, staff, family and friends who wish to attend. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is also available.
