Balcombe Grammar School, in partnership with families, provides the resources, programs and culture in which students feel comfortable to realise their personal best. Students are encouraged to explore and celebrate their talents as well as challenge themselves in a range of activities. As a member of the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools, Balcombe Grammar School promotes Christian values including service to others. Our manageable student population enables the staff to know more about each student and, in turn, students feel part of a caring and productive community. For younger students, this means that they feel safe and secure whilst being encouraged and challenged in all that they do. For secondary students it translates into opportunities for more individual attention and greater chances to maximise their potential.

Facilities:

The school has been architecturally designed to be in sympathy with its beautiful surroundings. The classrooms are well appointed, with each room having Interactive Whiteboards and desktop computers. The passive solar design along with reverse cycle air-conditioning in each room ensures the atmosphere in the rooms is always conducive to engaged learning. Students enjoy a range of specialty rooms including Science, Art, Instrumental rooms, Library, Computer rooms, Gymnasium, Sports Grounds and terrific playgrounds.

Curriculum:

The comprehensive program at BGS ensures each student realises their personal best. The curriculum recognises the need to develop strong Literacy and Numeracy skills. The broad curriculum encompasses academics, health, sport, creativity, pastoral care and service to the community.

Extras:

Engagement with the local, national and international community is a priority at Balcombe Grammar School. The Active Community Program ensures that we spend time each fortnight in our local community. The Program offers a range of healthy and community based activities including: sailing, life-saving, environmental projects, yoga, dance and community programs. The Make a Difference Program is part of a specialised Year 9 program developed to promote personal empowerment and service to local community. Year 9s also have the opportunity to apply to our NT experience, spending time the The Minyerri community. Internationally, Balcombe Grammar School continues to form relationships utilising the technology throughout the school.

Co-Curricular Activities:

Balcombe Grammar is a healthy school. Students are encouraged to participate in sport and general health programs. The instrumental program offers a wide range of instruments with close to half of the student population currently enrolled in the program. Years 3-10 enjoy an annual camp that is integrated into the broader curriculum. The Year 6 snow camp offers a fitting climax to the Primary program. In the secondary school, the Year 9s have a choice of several adventure based camps with Year 10s enjoying the option of attending our New Caledonia French trip or Great Victorian Bike Ride.
