Emmaus College is a co-educational Catholic College in the provincial city of Rockhampton. The aim of education at Emmaus is to provide and develop a community of learners, believers and caring individuals, so that each student experiences a sense of belonging to a purposive Christian Community. The Emmaus College ideal is to educate each student to his/her potential in all areas: spiritual, academic, sporting and cultural. Emmaus College is located on two sites, conveniently located only a couple of hundred metres apart allowing for the specific and different needs of Junior and Senior students.

A welcome to Emmaus College from Mr Terry Beaton -

Emmaus College prides itself in providing an holistic education to all students, underpinned by a Christian vision.

Our Mission Statement highlights the important relationship between the formal curriculum and the broader educational experiences offered by involvement in sports, music, debating and all the wonderful activities available at the college.

We invite you to explore our web site and find out more about our school, meet our caring staff, and experience some of the wonderful work our students produce. www.emmaus.qld.edu.au

• A modern Technology Centre and seven other computer rooms are available. Other computer facilites exist in specialty areas such as graphics, art and music and there are six mobile wireless laptop units available for classroom use.

• A Well equiped fitness centre is situated in the multiplepurpose Emmaus Hall, which also houses facilities for a variety of sports, drama and a commercially equipped kitchen for students studying hospitality.

• The hall complements the nearby Tynan Pool, Brosnan Ovals, outdoor basketball and netball courts, and beach volleyball courts.

• A library on each campus caters specifically for the different year levels.

• A 130 seat multipurpose presentation theatre is situated on the Main Street campus.
Emmaus College is committed to providing general and vocational education programs to meet the needs, interests and abilities of all students. The curriculum provides a range of subjects which lead towards a Senior Certificate. Students may exit with tertiary entrance qualifications, accreditation in recognised national modules, certification in performance, and skills for life and leisure.
Emmaus College offers Co-curricular activities to provide students with opportunities to develop their potential in as many areas as possible, given the financial, physical and staffing limitations of the College.

By participating in co-curricular activities, students can demonstrate commitment to the college, (fellow students and staff), and help build community and a sense of belonging to the College.

Co-curricular activities include: Sport, Instrumental Music, Musical Production, Debating/Public Speaking, Clubs/Interest Groups/Service Groups, Academic Competitions, and Opti-Minds (Tournament of Minds).

All students are expected to participate in at least one co-curricular activity per year.
Reflecting on the Emmaus Story in Luke's Gospel anchors our school's practices in the teachings and way of life of Jesus.

The central ideas that underlie our values are...

Journey:
Seeing every human life as an ongoing exploration and discovery.
Welcoming: Understanding that God might be encountered in each person whose path we cross.
Community: Promoting a faith based on the community's openness to recognising God in the events of daily life.
Hope: Providing nurture and encouragement for those who struggle.
Commitment: Developing an environment where people are prepared to commit themselves to doing what God calls them to do.
Enthusiasm: Acting out the dictates of our hearts. Emmaus College stands for the liberation of Christ's holy fire within every disciple.
