Forest Lake College is the premier coeducational Christian school in south-west Brisbane, where personalised and future focused education leads to exceptional student achievement. Our College community values, academic endeavour, respect, courtesy and optimism. As Prep to Year 12 coeducational school, owned by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane, Christian beliefs and values are central to our ethos. We welcome children of all families who accept this ethos, regardless of religious or ethnic origin. We are school of approximately 1,000 students located in the suburb of Forest Lake in south-west Brisbane, just over 20 kilometres from the city centre. The primary school is located on Forest Lake Boulevard and caters for 350 students from Prep to Year 6. The middle and senior schools, located on College Avenue, cater for 650 students from Years 7 to 12.

The College provides a seamless curriculum, from Prep to Year 12. In the early years, our children learn though play, investigating, exploring and presenting their ideas. The primary school programs are based on the eight Key Learning Areas (English, Mathematics, Science, Studies Of Society & Environment, Technology, Visual Arts, LOTE and Health & Physical Education), with particular emphasis on literacy and numeracy. The broad liberal education of the middle and senior school years and the provision of appropriate pathways toward tertiary study or the workplace in the senior school, form the basis of the curriculum.

Our curriculum is based on the National Goals for Schooling in the 21st Century and is appropriate to a modern, technological and culturally diverse society. We use flexible structures to address diverse education needs and learning styles where required in order to provide the best educational outcomes for our young people.

The value we place on education as a part of a sustaining and life giving Christian community significantly underpins the daily work of the school and the development of the curriculum. In an era of rapid and complex societal change and pervasive media and peer influence, the Colleges care for and nurture self esteem, encourage self reflection and develop compassion, respect, and tolerance as a foundation on which children may build their lives.

We also welcome opportunities to engage with international students and what an important impact this interaction can have on learning for domestic students. Developing student’s awareness of cultural diversity, global issues and opportunities is an important foundation for young people’s active participation in society.
Educating the whole child through the award winning Performing Arts programs in instrumental music, choir, dance, speech and drama and a comprehensive sporting program including cricket, netball, rugby, swimming, tennis, volleyball, hockey, basketball, softball, cross country, athletics, soccer – proudly a member of the TAS Sporting Association.
Future focused educational programs including tertiary links with partner universities in Physics and Chemistry and IT, and TAFE Colleges and for traineeships and apprenticeships; an extensive challenging outdoor education camping program builds confidence and leadership skills at all year levels; Mandarin Chinese from an early age to prepare students for a global future; and the “thinking curriculum” across all year levels based on the Dimensions of Learning framework.
Forest Lake College is a Christian faith community that nurtures life giving relationships and spiritual awareness. Our graduates will be well educated, resilient, creative, compassionate and respectful people of influence.
The College is engaged in the fundamental task of forming and informing young minds and hearts. In promoting the good news of Jesus Christ among students and families and among staff members, the Gospel values are central to all that we seek to do.

Faith - loving God and our neighbours as ourselves
Hope - fostering a positive, optimistic and empowering environment
Love - demonstrating support, encouragement and compassion
Courage - developing resilience and determination to succeed
Community - respect, tolerance and working together in service to others
Justice - inclusively, diversity and care for the environment
