Fraser Coast Anglican College is amongst the most beautiful and peaceful Colleges in Queensland, and together with its first rate facilities we provide a learning centre that is the envy of many. Where are we? The College is set on 26 hectares which we share with a few families of kangaroos and an abundance of native flora and fauna. The white sands and crystal clear waters of Hervey Bay are just a few kilometres away and World Heritage listed Fraser Island is right on our doorstep. We provide a home to the whales between August and October each year. Established in 1995, Fraser Coast Anglican College (FCAC) is a Co-educational day school from Kindergarten (ages 3 to 5), Junior School (Prep to Year 6), Middle School (Years 7 to 9) and Senior School (Years 10 to 12). About 800 students are enrolled across the College allowing us to keep small class sizes and to know every child. We also offer before and after school care and a vacation care program. Our Vision: “We aim to be the school of first choice in the Wide Bay region, achieving outstanding academic results and renowned for our innovative K-12 curriculum which engages all students.” Our staff: Our staff is professional, enthusiastic, caring and committed to providing the best opportunity for your child to reach their full potential. Our teachers continue to seek to improve the curriculum, making it dynamic, contemporary, providing a solid foundation for students to enter tertiary institutions or the workforce. We are committed to a broad based curriculum that is dynamic, flexible and relevant. Education should not be a passive process – it should be spirited, stimulating, thought provoking and challenging. We encourage and expect our children to participate actively in all aspects of the life of the College.
Music:
A strong music program is offered at the College with all students in Junior School being taught an instrument. As children progress into Middle and Senior School many continue to play an instrument and participate in various musical pursuits. The College boasts a number of excellent choirs, ensembles and orchestras.
Sport:
Students involve themselves in a number of sporting teams within the school and various Sports’ Associations in the Fraser Coast Community. The evidence of our reputation for sporting achievement can be seen in our trophy cabinets. Many students have used the pathways available at the College to further their sporting careers in representative arenas.
Events:
We have a full and exciting calendar of events to which parents and family members are invited. From the annual College Dash, Cross Country and Easter Hat Parade to Grandparents’ Day, Foundation Day and Year 12 Valedictory Service.
The College’s Parents and Friends’ Association and Foundation also conduct a number of key events each year.
Communication:
Our weekly newsletter “The Comet”, keeps families up to date with all the latest news from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our website is regularly updated with information for students and families as well as providing access to the Parent Lounge or Student Portal through OnLine@FCAC. The “Constellation” is the College’s annual magazine and Past Students are kept informed of their Alma Mater with the publication of “The Old Frasonian”.
Regular Parent/Teacher nights allow open communication with the College as well as through the provision of email access to College staff through OnLine@FCAC.
