Matthew Flinders Anglican College is a co-educational, independent school at Buderim. Catering for 1300 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, our mission is to create educational experiences dedicated to fostering learning for life. The College is affiliated with the Anglican Church and achieves its mission by providing a nurturing environment in which all students are encouraged to release their potential and become active contributors to the College and community.

Outstanding OP and NAPLAN results have seen Flinders named in local, state and national media as one of the top 100 schools in Australia, top 10 schools in Queensland and highest-achieving school on the Sunshine Coast. In 2010 OP results, one in four (25.4%) Year 12 graduates achieved an OP 1-3. A total of 39.0% of OP-eligible Flinders students achieved an OP 1-5; 54.5% an OP 1-7; 72.4% an OP 1-10 and 92.7% an OP1-15. A total of 70% of students achieved an A or B in the QCS Test compared to 43.5% state-wide (38.3% of Flinders students achieved an A/ 15.6% state-wide; 31.7% achieved a B/ 27.9% state-wide). In recent NAPLAN results, the school mean was better than both the State and National mean in every area.

Flinders students achieve impressive results in sports, art, music and drama. Honours include Champion Sunshine Coast School in Netball, Water Polo, Hockey and Girls Surfing, and Independent Zone Champions in Swimming and Cross Country. Flinders’ Music, Art and Drama programs are renowned for their exceptional quality and achievements.
