Noosa Christian College is located on 11.7 hectares in the delightful hinterland town of Cooroy. The College draws its students from Caloundra to Cooran and east to Noosa Heads. The College operates three mini buses to assist parents with the transporting of their children to and from school. The College currently offers classes from Prep – Year 9. Year 10 will be added in 2009 and a year will be added each year until Year 12 in 2011. Stage 4 of the development plan has been completed providing the College with brand new, state of the art facilities for Prep, the primary school and a brand new two story secondary building. These facilities, together with attractive demountables, now gives the College adequate space to cater to Year 12. The College operates a Learning Support Program where students who are performing below their respective grade expectations are given assistance to improve their performance; this unit has achieved some outstanding results. At the other end of the spectrum, each classroom teacher has a process whereby students who show special ability in a subject are given extension work in the classroom. The College’s curriculum is geared to students receiving an balance between the academic and more physical pursuits. In addition to the regular academic subjects the College has introduced Horticulture and Animal Husbandry to provide for additional outdoor educational experiences.
