St Mary’s College has provided Catholic education for the Maryborough/Hervey Bay District for over 100 years. The Christian Brothers established the College on its present site in 1888. St Mary’s College is a parish owned Catholic Secondary Co-Educational College with an enrolment of 455 students. It serves the communities of St. Mary’s Church, Maryborough, Tiaro, Torbanlea, Howard and surrounding areas and is proud to be a part of Catholic Education under the auspices of the Catholic Education Office in Brisbane. Because of the size of the College, students can work closely with a small number of teachers to ensure they gain the most from their education. This, combined with supportive parents and a caring and dedicated staff, creates a real sense of family and community.

Facilities:

The College has a well equipped Library Learning Resource Centre; Middle schooling teaching facility; Specialist rooms and equipment including Science, Art, Design and Technology, Home Economics and Hospitality, Drama, Film & Television, Graphics and Music; Three computer rooms and mobile wireless laptops; Two ovals and Multi Purpose Indoor Hall.

Curriculum:

Students in Years 8 and 9 will undertake study in the 9 Key Learning Areas introducing students to the whole range of learning areas offered at secondary school. The Year 10 curriculum is designed to introduce students to elements of the senior curriculum. In the senior years the College offers a wide range of Authority (OP) and Authority Registered Subjects (vocational) that will give students a foundation for future tertiary studies, TAFE, apprenticeships and the workforce.

A wide variety of sporting and athletic activities, debating and public speaking, excellent Instrumental Music Program.
