Founded in 1901, TSS is an Anglican day and boarding school on the Gold Coast for boys from Prep Year to Year 12 with full, weekly and occasional boarding available from Year 5. TSS is a member of the Great Public Schools' Association (GPS) and is the only boys' school and boys' boarding school on the Gold Coast. Cutting-edge educational practices include Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence and Thinking Skills. TSS provides a balanced and holistic approach to boys' education, with integrated programs of academic and co-curricular. Current brain research shows that boys learn differently from girls. That's why our curriculum is developed to educate boys in a way that best suits their needs. Through low student-to-staff ratios, we provide our boys with greater individual attention. Our research demonstrates that boys perform better academically when they are involved in cultural and sporting activities. As a result, they become more confident and develop time management and organisational skills.
Extensive modern school and sporting facilities, 220-seat collegiate Chapel, dining hall, library, drama and music theatre, state-of-the-art science centre, five modern boarding houses and a 24-hour health centre. A separate world-class Preparatory Year centre with amphitheatre, music rooms, library, specialised art rooms, extensive sporting facilities including basketball courts, tennis courts and a large all-purpose oval. A commitment to a totally wireless school by the end of 2011.
From Prep Year to Year 12, the School provides a strong academic program designed to cater for boys’ specific learning needs, specialising in Leadership Development, Emotional Intelligence and Thinking and Creativity Skills. Integrated programs of co-curricular and academic are offered, with a low student-to-staff ratio.
The School provides a strong pastoral care program, cadet program, outdoor education program, boarding available from Year 5, member of the Round Square Association, national and international exchange opportunities and a strong alumni organisation.
