A Camberwell Girls Grammar School education is world class. In part, this is because we are scanning the international scene for best practice, in part because of our pragmatic approach to innovation, and because we are excited about investing in the future. This can be seen in the caring environment, in exemplary teaching, in the use of new technology and in the way the built environment influences learning.
CCGS has outstanding Early Learning, Primary and Secondary staff members with high expectations and a passion for education. Their generosity and skill is reflected in the School’s culture. Good humour, energy and care create a wonderfully vibrant and happy school where everyone strives for excellence – both academically and as people.
The broad curriculum equips students with the principles, knowledge and skills that enable them to be successful life-long learners, confident creative people and active citizens. CGGS has embarked on a major initiative which will make the School a world leader in the delivery of education enabled by technology. CGGS has a consistent pattern of academic excellence with a seven year median ATAR score of 92.
More than 20 sports are offered and CGGS also participates in the Girls’ Sport Victoria (GSV) Competition. Each girl who comes to CGGS can expect her unique qualities to be valued and developed.
Brilliant facilities at our Senior Campus include well appointed classrooms, state-of-the-art science laboratories, superbly equipped IT centre, visual arts school, performing arts complex, fitness centre, gymnasium and indoor heated pool.
The School’s new Sports Field and Sports/Science Academy incorporate a professional 100m running track, plexipave tennis, netball and basketball courts with spectator seating and natural grass for field events. The facility also incorporates the technology to enable students to analyse sporting performance using GPS, speed radar and automated pitching and striking equipment.
Our recently completed Woodstock Building was designed to complement our award-winning Junior School. There is a focus on collaborative technology, flexible teaching spaces, concept learning rooms and integrated common areas. It has an outstanding Library and Resource Centre that is modelled on concepts used in modern university libraries, equipped to absorb the inquisitive minds of our students. Interactive environmental gardens highlight the importance that CGGS places on sustainability.
Camberwell Girls Grammar School is now one of a small number of Australian Cisco Exemplar schools aiming to address the emerging Education 3.0 international agenda. A substantial suite of video conferencing facilities will see Primary and Secondary students working on virtual curriculum projects that are enabled by Cisco technology. This project adds an exciting, innovative and relevant dimension to our academic programs.
