Bacchus Marsh Grammar’s principle purpose is to fulfil the community’s desire for an Independent education that is holistic in its approach, comprehensive, challenging and enriching.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to be a co-educational, Ecumenical day school that provides quality co-education for students from the outer western area of Melbourne. We celebrate diversity and place strong emphasis on the fundamental need to respect and value others and to continuously personally develop.

At Bacchus Marsh Grammar we know that we all have different strengths that need to be developed and weaknesses that can be enhanced.

We actively encourage students to be involved in a broad range of curricular and co-curricular activities, so they develop the “whole person”. We strongly emphasise “Education for Life” in all that we do to help prepare students for the world beyond school.

We foster a sense of openness, community responsibility, social conscience, tolerance and resilience.

Through our programs and pastoral care, we support and promote the principles and practice of Australian democracy. We are committed to supporting the elected government, the role of law and equal rights before the law, freedom of religion, freedom of speech and association and the values of openness and tolerance.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar is a large school with all the associated advantages in terms of programs, resources and infrastructure.

To ensure we meet the needs of individual students, we have established a series of sub-schools. These comprise:

Each sub-school targets learning, teaching and pastoral care to the needs and requirements of students at distinct phases of their development and growth.

The sub-schools have their own Head of School and Deputy Head of School.

They are each managed by the senior staff of the school and supported by specific units designed to provide specialist advice and services to students.

Our curriculum at Bacchus Marsh Grammar, and its effective delivery, is designed to provide innovative and exciting learning opportunities through a broad and diverse range of engaging subjects.

Specially tailored literacy and numeracy programs at all levels help empower students to further develop these essential academic skills.

Our curriculum is delivered in a traditional, calm and structured environment and promotes effective learning and collaboration between students and teachers.

Our extra curricular activities further enrich your child’s education and provide diverse experiences to help them pursue their passions and interests.

Whilst classroom learning is central to a Bacchus Marsh Grammar education, the development of a rounded individual who has a variety of interests is one of the School’s most important goals.

At Bacchus Marsh Grammar we offer a range of activities, some with clear links to the curriculum and others that enable students to branch out and/or explore areas of interest.

Our extensive extra curricular program is designed to equip students with skills and passions for recreational and non-work interests that will contribute to a healthy and balanced life.

Bacchus Marsh Grammar celebrates diversity and welcomes students from a broad geographical area boasting a rich mix of differing cultural backgrounds and urban and rural living.
A School that Serves Western Melbourne
The locations of our campuses are a convenient and accessible distance for many communities. As a service to our School population, we also operate an extensive school bus network covering the outer western part of Melbourne and to rural areas to the south and west.
We enjoy a particularly strong profile Bacchus Marsh, Werribee and Hoppers Crossing, Melton, Caroline Springs/Burnside, Sunbury and Gisborne. And, reflecting our commitment to diversity, we encourage students from the wider geographical area because their inclusion in the fabric of our School enriches the range of experiences we offer.
