... a friendly learning community
Profile
MAIN DETAILS
St Michael’s College is a small but caring Catholic secondary school staffed by committed teachers who promote strong values of faith and learning.
Students who love sport and the arts are well provided for with a range of programs such as inter-house swimming, cross country and athletics competitions, public speaking and debating, and musical and drama productions available.
Set in beautiful grounds, St Michael’s also features smart new facilities including a gym, a performing arts complex, and a hospitality training kitchen as well as a communication and design technology centre.
However, the college not only provides learning opportunities for the present but also for the future.
As a registered training organisation, St Michael’s can offer its students a variety of vocational education and training (VET) courses including business services, early childhood, hospitality, manufacturing, and tourism certificates.
Led by principal Michael Laidler with a current enrolment of 800 students, St Michael’s was proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2010.
Staff and students are now preparing for another big year in 2011 and the continued development of academic, vocational, cultural and sporting opportunities.
St Michael's will show you what it means to be a "friendly, learning, Catholic community".
Past pupils speak proudly of a College that has allowed then to “ strive for excellence” in all aspects of their College life. They also speak of the “warm and lasting friendship” they made as students of the St. Michael’s family. St. Michael’s sets its standards high and with support along the way, everyone is given the opportunity to shine. St. Michael’s College, established in 1985 and administered by Brisbane Catholic Education is a Catholic co-educational secondary college which adheres to its mission “ With Christ at the Centre....we strive to be a community where holistic teaching and learning occur in a Catholic, Christian Environment”.
